Windows 10: Windows 10 Painfully slow - 100% CPU Usage

Hey, since today this random issue has popped up, where my computer slows down dramatically and my CPU usage soars to 100%, even though nothing in my processes is even that high, It happens in any program, such as if I'm gaming or browsing the web, and everything grinds to a halt, if I attempt to shutdown (with fast startup), the computer's screen goes black, but it won't turn off, forcing me to do a hard restart. Any help?

Edit: Not sure if this will work, but I still had Intel HD Graphics as well as my GTX 660M Card installed, and in task manager, gfxui was taking up hard disk bandwidth, so if anyone else has this issue try reinstalling the HD Graphics driver

Audio quit a week after upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10

Windows 10 produced a number of problems: very slow performance (task manager frequently showed 95-100% CPU usage), occasional freeze-up, especially when playing video. I have a Gateway with 4 gb RAM, 2.00 ghz CPU. When my audio quit today (audio troubleshooter
came up with nothing, device manager says "this device is working properly") I did a clean re-install of Windows 10. When completed after several hours, it made no difference. Still painfully, extraordinarily slow, still no audio. How do I make this better

 

Disk usage

I agree with Dave, adding more RAM will not help with a100% disk use. I did see a comment from ONE user that upgrading from 8-12GB did help with random pauses in Office applications (for what ever that knowlege is worth).

You should try to associated the disk use with specific applicatinsin task manager or Resource Manager.
