Windows 10: Windows 10 Password to another computer on local wired LAN

Hello All


Am new to this community.


I am attempting to connect to my wife's computer on our wired LAN. I can see the computer just fine from Explorer. When I attempt to connect to one of the drives I am asked for a password. I have tried every password we have ever used for her MS account and I still am denied access. Is there a different password it is expecting?


I am willing to reset any password I just do not know where I need to go or what to do.


I am running through a Netgear 24 port PoE switch. Not having any problems reaching my NAS.


Any help would be appreciated.


On another level is there a document or video that basically takes you through a primer on how to set up networking on Windows 10 (both wired and wireless).

Forgot Local Password

I suggest you to follow the steps provided below and reset the password for the local account and check.

• 
  Login in to your Microsoft account.
  
• 
  Press Windows logo key + X key.
  
• 
  Select Computer Management.
  
• 
  Click on Local user and group.
  
• 
  In the right window pane, double click on user’s folder.
  
• 
  Right click on local user account and select set password and follow the on screen instructions.

Local Account password changed to Online Account Password

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps on how to switch from Microsoft account to Local account:

• Click on search in taskbar and type account.
• Click on Accounts.
• Now, under Your account, click on Sign in with Local account instead.
• Enter your Microsoft account password for confirmation and then follow the screen instruction.
• Enter User name credentials for your the Local account and click OK.
• Now, login to Local account.
