Windows 10: windows 10 pc Black screen after update, none of the troubleshooting steps work

i did an install and shut down last night before going to sleep but noticed that my pc didnt shut down, just restarted. i didnt think anything of it, just turned the screen off and went to bed, thinking it might continue with updates. also my power went off this morning, not sure if that did anything. when i got on my pc earlier i signed in but only saw black screen and cursor. ctrl alt delete worked but i couldnt bring up task manager. windows control shift b didnt work either. unplugged all peripherals except mouse keyboard and lantried booting into safe mode, doesnt work just gives me a bla

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Thank you john for all of your help i decided to get the usb my computer came with and factory reset it i didnt have anything that personal or valueable so its ok thanks for the help though i appreciate it

• When the screen was blank, were you able to see the cursor on the screen?
  
• Did you get any error code or error message?
