Windows 10: Windows 10 PC freezes after trying to close an appeg chrome

Hello,i would like some help with an issue on windows that i have been having for a weekWhat is happening is that almost every boot up after a few minutes whenever I open or close an app,the App stops responding,then I open the Task Manager and click on the task,click “end task” then the task manager stops responding,Then I go down to the hotbar and hover my mouse over task manager or the app that is not responding,click the red X to close it,then the Hotbar stops responding,All in all results in my computer being completely unresponsive to anything but a forced rebootpressing the power butto

Chrome keeps freezing on Windows 10

Hi Pat,

There may be a few reasons why your Google Chrome keeps on freezing. One reason is the browser that you're using. For us to further isolate your concern, we need you to answer the following:

Is this happening on other browsers as well (e.g. Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox)?

Does the issue persist only on a specific website or it occurs on all websites?

Let us know if you're still getting the same error after performing our suggested troubleshooting step so we can assist further.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

Open a new Explorer window.

Click View in the ribbon.

Click Options.

Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”

Click OK

Google Chrome Freezing

I will go ahead and answer the 3 questions.

*You have referenced this 3 minute period, do you have a screensaver or video display timeout configured for 3 minutes? I trust that the monitor going off is expected and the result of configuration settings, correct?
No screensaver just the monitor goes off.

*You had indicated the Chrome fault started about 3 weeks ago, I'm trusting the above answer is suggesting the fault was happening 3 weeks with the Dell drivers and continues after updating the drivers using the update tool this week, correct?
Yes that is correct.

*When approximately did you start using Windows 10 on the Dell?
Windows 10 1903 was preinstalled when I purchased in late 2019 and I updated when a new release came out. I have reinstalled before for unrelated reasons. I would run factory restore and then update to latest.

I have tested with a clean boot and still have the issue. And here is a screenshot of my task manager.

Thanks for the update and answering the remaining questions. Could you please post a screenshot of your Power Options?

Is the Task Manager startup tab pic you posted, the before or after the Clean Boot?
If that's after, you missed a couple of steps in the tutorial.

As previously mentioned in post #13, please click & drag on the columns such that we can read all of the content.
Also, please click on the status column to sort with enabled at the top. There should be very few, if any, showing as enabled.
This is the whole point of a Clean Boot. Don't worry, we can adjust settings after the test.

I truly would like to see the startup tab with almost everything disabled.

Please review steps 3 & 5 below. If the Task Manager startup tab pic is from before the Clean Boot, please repeat the test and post the after results as listed above. Thanks.
