Windows 10 PC Tablet Cannot Access Shared Folder Same MS Account.

    Windows 10 PC
    Windows 10 Tablet

Logged in as Owner(my Microsoft account) on both PC and Tablet

I can access (RWX) files and shared folders from Tablet to PC, but cannot do so from PC to Tablet.

Same permissions on both devices, I'm set as Owner on both.

Is this a permission issue on the PC? (does tablet not see that I am the Owner)
Is the issue, using the same account? First time using a Windows Tablet, not sure if you are supposed to log into two devices using the same credentials.

Side-Note: My Homegroups also reset, when I got the tablet I created a Homegroup on the PC and joined to it from the Tablet. worked then. But right now It asks to "Join Now" "Join <My Account here> 's Homegroup" says the same on both PC and Tablet, even though they are both logged as the same account, Me.

    :)

    Network credentials?

I have 3 existing Windows 10 PCs. All signing in with the same Microsoft account (user name is hotmail email address). All PCs has following in Advanced sharing settings:

    • HomeGroup connections

      • Use user accounts and password to connect to other computers

    • Password protected sharing

      • Turn on password protected sharing
Shared folder on these computers with permission set to Everyone. All of them can access each other just fine.

Bought a new Windows 10 PC, set up with the same MIcrosoft account.

Then I added a shared folder on the new PC. Any one of the existing PC can access this new PC’s shared folder, but problem is that the new PC cannot access shared folder on any one of the old PC. Windows keeps showing “Enter network credentials” and
“the username or password is incorrect” dialog box.

Researched on Internet and played with different setting, none of them helps.

Then I tried the following and it worked:

    • Change all PCs to “Sign in with a local account” and use the same username/password. After that the new PC can access old PC”s shared folder.

    • Now change all PCs back to “Sign in with Microsoft account”. Interestingly, now the new PC can access shared folder on other PCs.
So it looks like new PC has to share with other PCs with *local account* first before sharing with Microsoft account is allowed.

Windows 10 PC Tablet Cannot Access Shared Folder Same MS Account.

    Try standard network shares.

Not sure I understand you. If you mean Share folder (Properties > Share tab), then yes I already have that and thats where my issue lies.
do you mean map a network drive?

Yes that is a standard network share. If not working, have you tried reinstalling the network drivers? If you are using third party security software, have you tried disabling it to see if that is the issue?
