Windows 10: Windows 10 pending update starting to act like if it was a virus.

Hello!I've recently discovered unexpected behaviour from a Windows 10 pending update.First of, its a "restart only" update. Its weird because recently i've been having updates that update by both restart and shutdown but i thought it wasn't a big of a deal.But the second thing, is that i want to open Windows Update settings, and it doesn't open. It frozes the Settings window in both possible ways that you can access it from: By searching it in the search bar and by pressing the "Windows Update settings" in the Settings menu.And the third and last thing, once i knew about this problem, i tried

ACT Pro 2013 will not open in Windows 10

The most likely causes on a standalone are a damaged or invalid .pad file or SQL is not running, or is damaged.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if the issue persists.

    Click your Windows Start button, choose Run and type in actdiag.
    

• • 
    When ACT! Diagnostics comes up, click Databases, the Database List.
    

• • 
    Locate your database in the list, right-click on it and select Detach. Make sure you know the filepath to your database before detaching it.
    

• • 
    When the database has been detached, open My Computer (or Windows Explorer) and browse to the location of your database.
    

• • 
    Locate the .PAD file for your database [database name].pad and delete it.
    

• • 
    Reopen ACT!...you will get a message that the last database opened cannot found, then will be taken to the Open Database dialog box.
    

• • 
    At the bottom of this box, change the Files of Type to .adf, browse to the location of your database and double-click on the .adf file for your database.
    

• • 
    You will get a message that ACT! will verify your database, click OK and ACT will reattach your database to SQL and create a new .pad file.

Updates pending

I am running with windows 10.0.20231 and have pending updates for:

• Windows 10 Insider Preview 10.0.20241.1005 (rs_prerelease)
• Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P. - Keyboard - Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard for HP Hotkey Support

For some reason the updates continue to show as pending and are not being installed. I ran the update troubleshooter and the only issue it found was:

Problem with BITS service : The requested service has already been started. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException

I'm unclear as to why this is a problem or what I need to do to resume my downloads, anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to fix this?

 

Windows 10 Apps Don't Launch or Update, Error message: The app didn't start.
