Windows 10: Windows 10 Photos App Not Letting Me View More Than One Photo At A Time

Hi, I've never had this problem before. When I want to look at photos that I keep in a folder, it only lets me view one at a time unless I highlight all of them and press open or slideshow. This did not used to be a requirement. I used to be able to just click on a photo and then from there, would be able to scroll or use an arrow key to view the rest of the photos in the folder. Now all of a sudden I have to go out of my way and do extra work to do something that I used to be able to do with a single double-click. This is disappointing to the point to where I don't really like viewing photos on my computer anymore. Before you ask, yes the Photos app is the default app. Yes I have reset the selections in the settings multiple times.

Cannot view photos in photo app


I opened my picture library and double clicked to view photo, photo App opens and shuts immediately and then displays an error message. This happens with all photos/pictures I have tried to open!



How can I view my photos/pictures in Windows 10? *Sick

Just to clarify I sign in with a Local account, do I have to sign in with a Microsoft account to use the apps?

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

The 'Photos' app for photo viewing has disappeared.

To better assist you, let us know if the app shows up when you type "photos" in the search bar.

If that doesn't help, I would suggest you to try opening any photo by following the steps below:

1. Right click on a photo and select open with.

2. From the available options, if "photos" is listed, select it.

3. Once you open the photo through the app, the icon will appear on the taskbar.

4. Right click on the icon in the taskbar and see if you are able to pin it to the taskbar.

If that doesn't help, check if you are able to download the app through Windows store.
