  1. Windows 10 Plug and Play not working while reinstalling legacy hardware

Hello !I have been struggling with this for a couple of month now, and no amount of searching or pulling my hair has solved this problem.I have no idea i just uninstall the display adapter while i cant use the projecting screen to the second. I dont do it on purpose. So, i comeback to reinstalling the display adapter from device manager, and all i got is "Plug and Play is not available on the remote machine." I dont know what i've done with this, trying to googling it and i cant find the answer. The other users i watched they succesfully reinstalling the drivers. But I have done that over coup

    :)

About legacy hardware in windows 10

There's no 'legacy mode' in a BIOS, however there is a legacy BIOS mode in a UEFI. A better name for it is "legacy - that is, BIOS - mode."

If your computer shipped with UEFI/GPT it's probably compatible with Windows 10, but that's not a guarantee. To know
for sure whether your hardware is compatible with Windows 10, you have to make a list of all the hardware in the computer and then find out whether each component is compatible. You do this by checking with each component's manufacturer.

    Here's what you will discover:

If the manufacturer supports a hardware component on Windows 10, that means the manufacturer has written a driver for Windows 10 and tested the component on Windows 10.

If the manufacturer does not support the hardware on Windows 10, that means it's not writing a driver or testing the hardware on Windows 10. However, an earlier driver - say a Windows 8 or Windows 7 driver - may still be
compatible with Windows 10. That means you can use the hardware on Windows 10 for now, but eventually it will stop working properly or at all.

BTW - the legacy mode in a UEFI doesn't have anything to do with legacy hardware. It means you can boot the computer with an operating system that was written for the older BIOS booting system instead of the newer UEFI.

My plug and play is still on running after 2.5 Hours

    Hi Declan,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

    • Press Windows Key + R key

    • Right click on Plug and Play and click on stop

    • Again start the service.

Windows 10 Plug and Play not working while reinstalling legacy hardware

Rear audio ports always show as “Not plugged in”

I've been having this issue with Windows for about a week now which NONE of the back panel/front panel connectors (speakers, microphone) are being recognized by Realtek audio manager. The only audio input/outputs that are showing are the optical.
Troubling shooting steps I've tried (none worked):

    • COMPLETELY uninstall all Realtek drivers/reinstall
    • Tried using windows drivers
    • Reinstall Windows 10
    • Upgraded chipset driver
    • sfc /scannow
I called EVGA and asked for RMA but then I booted into a Ubuntu OS and all the ports work FINE. It must be a problem with windows 10.
Can you think of any other troubling shooting step I can try to fix this annoying issue? Thanks!

After looking in Device Manager under Audio inputs and outputs, I don't see any speaker/microphone listings, only the optical crap:
