Having trouble getting the printer pop up balloon to show up on my PC

I did a couple of things that i saw on forums:
    - Checking Server Properties
    -Notifications & Actions
    - Placing them manually in regedit.
These things did not work for me. Other things like outlook and other notifications coming from youtube or web browser would come in just fine. But when it comes to sending a print job it does not show the balloon.

  2. Print Job Pop up window not popping up anymore after moving from WIndows 7 to Windows 10

Whenever I printed in Windows 7, a notification message would pop up on the screen, and then fade way. In Windows 10 (Version 1803). I don't seem to have that pop up anymore. The only "Notification" I see is the following.

Windows 10 Pop Up balloon notification for printing 982730ba-ad69-4cc6-8e56-a8c512d5106e?upload=true.png

    What I've tried so far:

    1. I first went into the Print Management App and checked on the Print Server Properties Advanced tab. Both "Show informational notifications for network printers" and "Show informational notifications for local printers" are properly checked. I tried
unchecking and re-checking with no success.
    • Press Windows Key +R to launch the Windows Run dialog box.
    • Type “printmanagement.msc“, then press Enter key
    • Expand “Printer Servers“, then right click the name of the computer and select “Printer Server Properties“.
    • Select the “Advanced” tab.
    • Put a check mark against “Show Informational Notifications for Local Printers” and “Show Informational Notifications for Network Printers“.

    1. I then went into the Registry Editor and manually deleted and re-added the keys for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings\EnableBalloonNotificationsLocal and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Printers\Settings\EnableBalloonNotificationsRemote. No success.

    1. I then went into the Group Policy Editor and went to the User Configuration/Administrative Templates/Start Menu and Taskbar to enable the policy for "Disable showing balloon notifications as toasts" since I read that could cause problems. No such
      luck.

      Any other ideas?

Various balloons pop up in the notification/Action Center area

Thanks. I am aware of that approach, but it doesn't address the issue. Here's how it's functioning in Windows 10...

Configure the removable drive to open File Explorer, and it does just that. No notification is seen in Action Center.

Configure it to TAKE NO ACTION and there's also no notification.

Configure it to ASK and a notification pops up, but clicking/tapping it does not ask. The notification vanishes.

So it appears the the ASK choice is not operating as it should, which is to pop up a box with choices for the user.

The balloon states: "tap to choose what happens with removable drives." Do that, and the notification vanishes.

This appears to be a legitimate bug.

Windows 10 Pop Up balloon notification for printing

Various balloons pop up in the notification/Action Center area

    Original Title: Notifications (updated)

Various balloons pop up in the notification/Action Center area that instruct, for example, to "tap to choose what happens with removable drives." Yet when those prompts are clicked/tapped, they vanish, providing no options ... so what's the point??

    ************** update ***********

Now a right-click on a balloon prompts to click on "go to notifications settings." Perhaps this was recently pushed in an update; don't recall seeing it earlier. That's an improvement, but for removable drive notifications, the prompt
should point to the AutoPlay settings page, where the options for those drives can be chosen.
