  1. Windows 10 Power Saving on Desktop

    Hello!
I work in IT for a business which uses Signature Pads and some other devices that connect through USB and over ethernet. We have been having consistent issues with the program we use (Fiserv DNA) losing connection with many of the devices we use. Sometimes when this happens it forces the app into an unresponsive state before it crashes. Today, I was on a user's computer about to force close the app because it was unresponsive and I noticed the little energy saving leaf next to its name in Control Panel. Unfortunately, it crashed before I even had a chance to snag a screenshot. We were thinking this might be at least part of what is causing the app to have so many connection issues. My question is if anybody knows how to add an app to the list of apps allowed to run in the background on a desktop. I have found various guides on how to do it on Windows 10 laptops, but have not had any luck finding a way to do it on desktops. We have set all our PCs to High Performance and disabled USB selective suspend turned off. Any help whatsoever is greatly appreciated as we cannot find even much of a pattern for why this is happening. And thank you in advance!

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
