Windows 10 Preview build to RTM before my version expires

I'm trying to update from preview version 1809 build18272.1000 to the RTM version 1809 build 17763.134. I can't keep my apps and settings because the RTM version is lower than the preview build. Can I change the version number in the registry to fake it out? Is there any way around this problem? Will there be a new preview version to keep me going. Thanks for any help I can get. The answer to this will undoubtably help many previewers in this same situation.

    :)

    Insider preview 10240 is RTM

from win 8.1 upgraded to insider preview build 10130 and upgraded to new build 10240.

activated permanently and licencee to Retail channel. no expire date on this build 10240 RTM

I am from Insider preview (upgraded from windows 8.1), does my windows 8.1 considered upgraded?

two of my computers got the same generic key, ending with 3V66T...i heard also other people with the same key.

can i clean install windows 10 RTM without key and it will it be activated automatically?

  4. Windows 10 Preview build to RTM before my version expires

Windows 10 Pro Insider preview updated to build RTM build but have some questions...

I was part of the windows insider program so for months I've had a copy of windows technical preview. It recently updated to RTM build. I have two questions,

1: the search button + cortana and the start menu functions (such as list of apps etc.) do not work. I'm refreshing the PC as I type so I will wait to see if that fixes the problem.

2: A bit of a strange one, This copy of windows 10 pro was originally a insider preview. Now that its updated to RTM build, when i check the license state using the command slmgr /dlv, it states that windows is activated using the generic key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T
and when i check the expiration status using the command slmgr /xpr, it states this machine is permanently activated. My questions is that is this copy of windows 10 pro which was originally part of the insider preview permanently activated? Has Microsoft
just given me a free copy of windows 10 pro for being part of the insider program? If this is the case then why is it activated using a generic key and not a unique key? What if i want to transfer this copy of windows 10 pro to another computer? Can i do so?
Currently it is on a virtual machine hdd.

Thanks for any help Windows 10 Preview build to RTM before my version expires :)

UPDATE: Refreshing Windows 10 did the trick. windows is now functioning normally. Still waiting for an answer to question 2.
