Windows 10 Pro 1909 Remote Desktop Connection Log on failure with stored credentials

I have a MSI GE73 Raider RGB 8RE NB that I am using to remote into 5th gen Surface Pro (model 1796) I have the credentials for logging into the system stored. but every time I go to log in, I get a logon failure message and a request to type in the logon info again. once I do, the logon proceeds and I am connected to the device, but even editing the stored credentials and re-entering the password does not correct the problem. I have even told RD to forget the credentials, and recreated them, but that does not seem it solve the issue. both devices are currently running windows 10 Pro 1909, but the issue was still occurring when the surface pro was still running 1809. how can I solve this issue?

    :)

Invalid Login Credentials Remote Desktop Windows 10

Had the same issue. I was connecting from Windows 10 Home laptop to another laptop with Windows 10 Pro. I recently upgraded the Windows 10 Pro from Windows 7 Professional. I was able to remote desktop prior to the upgrade using my credentials without
any issues. Once I upgraded, to Win 10 Pro, it said my credentials were invalid. It worked fine after this suggestion! Thanks.
