Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro 20H2 Restore from restore point fails

Obviously, there are many posts concerning Windows 10 and restore points and restore failures, etc. Yet I do not see successful conclusions to these posts. Perhaps I am missing something common to all.


Here is my issue: I run the the Create Restore Point, label the restore point, and the restore point is created successfully. However, if at some later time, I go to restore Windows 10 Pro 20H2 I can always see all the restore points created, I select from the list. to the created restore point, run system restore and restore then fails. The system restore always fails with:


And yes, Malware Bytes is incapacitated prior to restore point activation.


So, the basic un-answered questions are why is this happening? And what is the correct way to restore Windows 10 Pro 20H2 from a successfully created so it seems restore point? Is there a specific process to follow and state Safe Mode for example to be in before starting the restore point action?


My system: Clean - gold - install of 64 bit Windows 10 Pro 20H2 March 2021 - is current - all required updates installed. Optional quality update '2021-03 Cumulative Update Preview for Windows 10 Version 20H2 for x64-based Systems KB5000842' is NOT, repeat NOT installed. Office 365, Kofax PDF editor, HP Printer, Malware Bytes installed. Wndows Defender enabled.


Single user machine, my login account via Windows Hello, supposedly has all adminstrative privileges, though, at times when trying to view folders under Windows Explorer, I do not have permission to see the contents and must grant myself access. Which hapeens with no issues, though I wonder why, as the Administrator account, I don't already have those default privileges.


Other: When I install a new program or application, I create a Restore Prior to install, just in case the installation of the program or app is unsuccessful only heaven knows why or the system exhibits weird or strange behavior after install. I learned this the hard way after performing a Windwos 10 update that knocked out Windows Hello facial recognition, and all atttempts to correct the problem only further corrupted they system to an unusable state. Therefore resulting in the gold fresh Windows 10 install and re-install of the basic apps, programs, listed above.


And finally, after the failed restore point action, I have run both DISM and SFC. SFC always finds corrupted files and successfully repairs them. Subsequent runs of DISM and SFC show a clean system file system - no errors - no corrupt files.

Windows XP PRO error after restore

System restore is handy when it works like it did for me 2 days ago saving the need to reinstall all of my software as well as windows, id suggest using norton Ghost 12 for an excellent system restore feature.

well i found out wich program was eraseing my restore points it was acronis true image 10 so i disabled system restore becouse i rether use ati any way

Turn off system restore in XP altogether...or if you dont want to, AsRocks suggestion should work :\
