Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro - 20H2 Update Fails - 0xC1900204 - 0x4000B

Hello!


I'm struggling to get my Windows 10 Pro from 1909 to 20H2. The Windows Update process tells me the update failed and to try again later. Using SetupDiag.exe, I'm able to find the following information below.


From this site - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/upgrade/resolution-procedures - 0xC1900204 means "[COLOR=rgba23, 23, 23, 1]The system does not pass the requirements for desired migration choice", but this might be a red herring. Anytime I try the Media Creation Tool, it tells me that I cannot keep any of my files and must wipe and reinstall it all which I'm trying to avoid. [/COLOR]

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

windows updates 20H2

Hi team...my most recent version is windows 10 20H2 , despite that the office 2010 32 bit updates are failing with the error code 0x80070643....i checked several times and updated office 2019 on my PC.

unable to find a solution, and it seems that if eventually that will fail....ultimately operating system clean install option will be the last remaining option, which I do not want to do.....

kindly suggest what to do?
