    Windows 10 Pro 21H1 / Can not open PowerShell & Command Prompt


    Hi Community:I'm going to provide as much detail as I can, I'm sorry this is going to be long.I own a Lenovo Laptop, Model T440, purchased new, original owner.This machine came preloaded with Windows 7, and it was upgraded to Windows 10 Pro.I upgraded the machine to a SSD a bit ago, when the system was already upgraded to Windows 10. I used the Samsung migration tool to migrate from the original Hard Disk, to the new Samsung SSD.Hardware Modifications: 12GB RAM Total, 500GB Samsung SSD 850 EVOCurrent OS:Windows 10 ProVersion 21H1Installed on 7/15/2020OS Build: 19043.1151Windows Feature

    command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

    I am repairing a laptop for a friend and I need to access windows in safe mode and the owner has forgotten the password to the main user. I tried logging on with the administrator profile in safe mode but it is not showing up so I was going to use command prompt in safe mode with command prompt but command prompt will not open when I boot that option. Does anyone have any hints for me to figure this out?

    Would I just follow the same steps within safe mode after hooking up to the other system?

    PowerShell instead of Commandline in Creators Update

    Interestingly enough my personal laptop just got the update...and still has Command Prompt listed, not PowerShell...

    Edit: Not that it matters...I use both regularly. *Toast :toast:
