Windows 10: Windows 10 pro 64 bit, Stops responding after complete boot.

Hello,I have got a problem of windows 10 freezing.Recently, I have to reinstall windows on my SSD and I restored windows after taking my data backup and all the apps were gone. Everything started working smoothly but when it boots up, it 8 out of 10 times it stops responding either on the desktop icons or on the task bar.Now the weird thing is that when I start task manager by key combination Ctl-Alt-Del, everything starts working as usual and there is no problem until I power of and reopen my desktop.Driver Booster checks and shows no driver needs any update.Anyone can help resolve this issue

Compability of Asus H97-Pro with Windows 10 (64-bit)


I'm planning to have Asus H97-Pro & Windows 10 (64-bit) in my new system.

While cross checking compatibilty I landed on Windows Compatible Products List
and according to that Asus H97-Pro is only comatible with Windows 7 & 8.

Please suggest whether Asus H97-Pro is actually compatible with Windows 10 or not.

Going from 32 bit to 64 bit Windows 10

Hi Edward,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

It is completely dependent on the Architecture of your system. If your system type is 32bit it is not recommended to move to 64 bit operating system.

Therefore I would suggest you to follow the steps and check your system type:

1. Press Windows key + R to go to the run command, type "control system" and click Enter.

2. In the System type, if it is mentioned "x64 based processor" then you can upgrade to Windows 10 for 64 bit.

Can't Install Win10 Pro / 64 bit from Microsoft download page

1. Thank you all for your suggestions. Nothing actually worked on my end. If you haven't tried the recent MS 64 bit download/boot/install, please attempt it if you have time.
2. Personally, I think there is a bug in the MS 64 bit process as I had no issues with the 32 bit.
3. In the end, I bought an OEM install disk on-line for $20 and I was able to get 2 of my PCs upgraded to Win-10 Pro / 64 bit. No more headache.
