Windows 10: Windows 10 pro activation after mobo+CPU change - I have my Win 7 pro key

After 30 minutes on the phone with MS support, calling from abroad, costing me € 25 .. the call was suddenly terminated.

The person on the other side told me my key was valid, but I still can not get my Win 10 pro activated.


I have my original Windows 7 pro key here, and changed mobo + cpu.


What can I do ..

Windows 8.1 pro + WMC key activation

This worked for me last time with a Win 8 key.

Install Windows 8.1 and enter KMS key during setup. Once in windows change product key to my Windows 8 key. Go to add features and enter my WMC add-on key. Drink a beer to a job well done.

 

Should I buy Windows 10 Home or Pro?

I bought a win 10 pro oem key for £25, changed my motherboard and cpu, and reinstalled windows, and it activated automatically. So I would say why not buy pro?

Was near enough instant delivery of key by email, and it activated on my original install, and on a clean install with changed hardware. Can't say fairer than that for £25

 

Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Pro doesn't Activate

Yet it didn't, hence the suggestion. But again, if you have the Pro key you could use that.
