Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro and Xeon X5680 Compatibility

Hi, I bought an old Lenovo D20 with two X5680 processors. This also has Windows 10 Pro installed. 96 GB RAM. I am experiencing issues with the performance of this PC. Is there a compatibility issue between W10P and the processors? If there is a compatibility issue, how can I solve it?

Intel Xeon X5650 Compatibility

The Intel Xeon line of processors is targeted at the non-consumer workstation, server, and embedded system markets. As such, while it is possible to install and run Windows 10 consumer editions (such as Home and Pro), you may experience hiccups and compatibility
issues. (Especially since the X5650 is based on an old architecture Westmere-EP)

Additionally, going from AMD A8 7600 to Intel Xeon X5650 will also require you to get a new motherboard. (From Socket FM2+ to LGA 1366). The safest option is to upgrade to a new platform such as
Coffee Lake from Intel or Zen from AMD.

Intel Xeon X5650 Compatibility

Hi there. I was wondering what Windows 10 version would support the Intel Xeon X5650. I was not able to find any articles that was talking about the compatibility for its OS; Soo I was wondering that if the processor is supported on Windows 10 home or pro?

Second question: Im upgrading from an AMD A8 7600 to a Intel Xeon X5650 or should i stay with the AMD A8 now and save up for a new mobo/cpu such as the Intel I3 8100 Coffee Lake. Im from New Zealand "by the way" so parts arent cheap here and my budget is
220 NZD.
