    Hello All;


    Basically, what the title suggests. I have a machine running windows 10 pro. Everything is working beautifully and this is a recent setup. Setup OneDrive and redirected all folders under C:\User\%USERNAME%\ to actually live in one drive.

    Maybe I am not following best practices. But everything works fine than; one day I see an additionally Desktop folder in my user's directory. And for some reason some apps are saving to it. Namely, old PAINT app that the user is using to do screen captures. Paste info Paint and save. These are all being saved into a folder called desktop; however, it is not the users real OneDrive desktop that he can access on his own.

    Has anyone seen this type of behavior. Anyone know the best way to resolve this issue?

    Not Syncing Folders with OneDrive

    There is no way to selectively sync folders (meaning "selectively backup folders to OneDrive"). It's either sync all folders or no folders.

    If you uncheck a folder it will disappear from your device. When you check folders you are selecting which online OneDrive folders you want synced to your device. That's what "sync" means in OneDrive. What you have experienced
    is the way it works.

    So I stopped Backup for Desktop. This in turn made all other files on the Desktop disappear... at this point I came here and decided to simply ask.

    Stopping the Backup (at OneDrive settings > Backup tab >
    Manage backup) of your Desktop should not make the desktop folders disappear. Perhaps you are still backing up these folders to OneDrive and you unchecked these desktop folders?

  3. Music Folder Behaving Badly in OneDrive

    Hi Robert,

    There is a possibility that the Music folder is synced to your OneDrive that is why any files deleted from either of the folders is synced to the other. For us to better assist you with the said folder, we'd like to ask for additional information:

    • Can you please provide a screenshot of the Music folder from the OneDrive folder and home folder?
    • What are the troubleshooting steps that you were advised to do?

    How can I add folders to the Desktop Toolbar in Windows 10?

    It also appears that my "Box Sync" folder appears in the list by default. The question isn't about how to create a new toolbar, the question is how do I get additional folders to appear in the Desktop Toolbar list without placing it on the desktop.

    Clearly since other folders appear in the Desktop Toolbar list (OneDrive and Box Sync as examples) this must be possible. How is this accomplished? Please note...I want the folders to appear in the Desktop Toolbar on the taskbar; I do not
    want to create a new toolbar.
