Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro doesn't have product key, can I downgrade to Home,and will that need a P-key...

I recently bought I used PC since mine went all screwy from trying to use a downloaded script to change all the services back to their normal settings.the used PC had been reset so when I turned it on I had to do the windows start-up stuff, but the only problem is it has Windows 10 Pro installed, and when I go to activation it tells me that there isn't a Windows10 Pro Key. I guess I got jipped with not having the Pro key when I bought this 2nd hand...in update, it says "windows reported that no product key was found on this device. Error code 0xC004F213"-->If I were to downgrade by re-in

Usable Product Keys for Enterprise downgrade to Pro


Hello wetenhr, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You could downgrade to Windows 10 Pro using the generic key under step 1. You'll still be using the same version that you currently have installed, but you will be able to update to the latest version and build via Windows Update.

When it's finished downgrading, you could try to activate Windows 10 Pro with your Windows 7 Pro or Ultimate key. If unsuccessful, you may need to purchase a Windows 10 Pro key from the Store to use to activate with.

Probably be easier and "better in the long run" for you, to just do a clean install on Win 10 Home, and use your Win 7 Home product key for that. You don't really know what's on that PC you were given. Clean install will fix that and have less "problems" going forward. Clean Install Windows 10
