Windows 10: Windows 10 pro downgrade

Hello, I had Windows 7 and was offered to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. I clicked on the upgrade/install tab its been so long ago, I cant remember which on it was and Windows 10 was there. I then kept getting a message that told me that I needed to go to settings to activate Windows. In doing that I found out that I had Windows 10 Pro and it gives me another error because it cant connect to my other devices or computers. I only want Windows 10 Home on my desk top computer but do not know how to switch from the Pro version to the Home version. There is information about if you have the Home version, you can switch to the Pro version but I cant find how to change from the Pro to the Home versions. Back when this all started it was for Free. Now it tells me also to activate Windows I will need a Product Key or a Product Code. Help please.

So you have a software download of Windows 10 Pro with no product key.

Is that correct?

Then you say:

If you already have Windows 7 why download Windows 10 Pro if you don't want to use Windows 10 Pro??

If by some chance you mean that you bought Windows 10 Pro and you want to downgrade it for free to Windows 7 Pro, you can't.

Windows 10 Pro had to be a preinstalled OEM license.

Thanks for your quick response and help, But I was told that if I inserted the Windows 10 Pro product key into the activation section it will be downgraded automatically like the following steps:

1. Open the Settings app and click Update & Security.
2. Open Activation and click Change product key.
3. Enter your Windows 10 Professional product key and click Next.
4. Restart the computer after the new product key is activated.
