Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro freezes randomly, only power off helps, works fine in Safe Mode, does not...

Hello. I recently bought a new computer and installed Windows 10 Pro x64 PL. After logging in computer freezes randomly after 1, 5 sometimes 10 minutes. Mouse cursor and keyboard are not responding. Only power off is possible. However it works fine in Safe Mode with Networking, but it still freezes in Clean Boot mode. I already tried to pull all recent Windows Updates and updated hardware drivers. I don't have any apps installed only Windows updates and drivers.


Here is PC specification:

MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC

Intel i7-9600K

2 x Kingston HyperX 8GB 2666 MHz

Samsung 860 Evo M2 500 GB

Silentium PC Vero L2 Bronze 500 W

No additional graphic hard


I already tried to replace some of hardware with others to see if it's a hardware issue, but it's not.

Tried to change RAM, tried to install OS on HDD WD 1000GB, replaced power supply with Seasonic Focus Gold 750 W - it's still the same.

Temparatures are OK, HDD and RAM tests are passing without any errors.

PC freeze within 30sec of boot, works fine in safe mode


Hi there,

Having an issue with my Laptop, running win 10 pro.

Freezing in less than 30 secs of boot normal boot.Safe mode works fine where I have tried to run sfc now issue found.

So here is a quick list of what I have so far tried

• Boot to safe mode sfc /scannow no issue found
• Tried a clean boot(disable all no MS services) and reboot
• Sign in under a new user account
• Read logs but nothing seen freezing seem to not write any logs.
• Memory test passed
• chkdsk passed
• run windows repair off disk
• Sure there is more than I can not think of at the moment as my brain is ready to sleep
• System Restore
• Startup Repair

I am thinking it might be a driver based issue due to working fine when in safe mode but haven't updated any drivers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had already tried turning off fast startup, to no avail.
Will look at the list you provided, thanks. Hard to do when computer freezes on the Windows loading screen though. *Biggrin
