    Windows 10 Pro - locked out, can't change PIN, no sign in options given, constant...


    I'm in process of replacing failed graphic card on partner's HP desktop. Its older but once top range and not prehistoric. Recent clean reinstall as part of finding out what was wrong with it. Fully up to date. Got it all going using her account. Result! Then tried to get in on my admin' account which has a pin: but wouldn't take it for reasons unknown, and stupidly in frustration I let it lock. Tried 'forgot pin' signed into my Microsoft account, put in security code from email and this lots of times but then it just goes into a loop of 'something went wrong'. Tried rebooting, switc

    Remove sign in pin

    Hi Joel,

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community. Your interest in Windows 10 is much appreciated.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to remove the sign in pin/password options.

    • In the search box type sign-in-option.
    • Click on the sign-in-option.
    • Then you can find password/pin/picture password.
    • There you can remove the option and check.

    no longer an option to change pin in "sign-in option"

    Everything is telling me to go to "sign-in options" to change my pin or delete my pin, but changing or deleting my pin is no longer listed as an option... on this weird "Windows Hello" pin, which is not an option either.

    Add PIN or Change PIN in Sign in Options

    I have already set a PIN for my Local Account and my "Sign in Options" in Settings looks like this showing "Add" under PIN:

    Various sites I have visited indicate that as I have already set a PIN I should have the option to "Change" or "I forgot my PIN". like this:
