Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro - Microsoft Atari - Mechwarrior Vengeance - won't install

Hello. I did read some of the posts in here talking about the DRM thing for CD installation and I followed some thread links to try and get the game to install, but no matter where I copy the CD files to, the computer won't see files from Disk 2. It tells me to insert CD to the C drive, but no matter how I copy the file to the C drive, it won't see them.


Is it simply not possible to play this game any more, or is there a simple yet detailed list of instructions out there explaining how I can install / play Vengeance again? Even if it's from another online streaming source. Thanks-

I have a very good idea of what is happening, and it has nothing to do with 'run as administrator'.

MechWarrior 4 (and expansion packs) uses SafeDisk, as do the majority of disk based games published by MS.

If you are using the disk based version of the game and there is a file with the title
secdrv.sys on the disk

I would patch the game first and use the noCD fix that suits version 3.0. I don't know if

patch 3.0 is cumulative. You may need to use patch 2.0 first.
