Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro V 1803 - Assigned Access mode - cannot add account

I am setting up Assigned Access mode for project to only show 4 x specific URL's but when trying to choose an account to assign it says


"The only active account is the current logged in account user. Add or create a new account and try again."


No matter what I try I'm not getting passed this issue?

I need to set this up urgently for user testing and its proving what others told me - "Don't touch Windows 10 - nothing but bugs and issues" ??

Windows 10 Assigned Access Mode

This is a Windows 10 issue. I have set this up on a separate workstation and I have the same issue. The new workstation is a Dell OptiPlex 3010 with Windows 10 Pro. I setup assigned access to use the Remote Desktop App. The user is setup to auto login.
After the app starts within several seconds the screen goes blank (very much like display timeout). Moving the mouse or keyboard brings the screen back up. I have logged into the full desktop of that user and turned off screen saver and turned off the display
timeout. The screen still goes blank after several seconds. This does not happen when assigned access mode is disabled. Again!! If Windows 10 is ever going to replace Kiosk PC's this needs to be fixed! Assigned access does not work properly. Microsoft - Please

Windows 10 Home - Assigned Access

I would like to know if "Assigned Access" mode will be available in the Home edition of Windows 10 or if it will only be part of the Windows 10 Pro version?

I know that Windows 8.1 Standard does not have "Assigned Access" mode and that 8.1 Standard will upgrade to Windows 10 Home but I have not been able to find anywhere that shows which features are available in which version of Windows 10.

I am about to deploy an in-house app in "Assigned Access" mode and have just discovered that all of my tablets with the "Windows 8.1 with Bing" version of Windows 8.1 need to be upgraded to Windows 8.1 Pro. I am trying to figure out whether it will be cheaper
and easier to simply wait for the Windows 10 release.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
