    Hi there
I have tried many many things. I do get Windows 10 Pro x64 VL V.1607 Build 14393.447 but they are more than usual DVD storage space. So can't fit in DVD

I then tried to get a little older version Windows 10 Pro x64 VL V.1607 Build 14393.351 updated Oct 2016 and tried to integrate November 8, 2016—KB3200970 (OS Build 14393.447) with NTlite, DISM and other methods. It does the job and test installation is at required build Build 14393.447 but again same problem. the resulting ISO file size increases more than a DVD.

actually most win 10 build now use Install.ESD instead of Install.WIM. so whatever method I chose to slipstream Nov update to it, it first needs to convert ESD to WIM. Then only Install.wim can be serviced i-e integrated with updates. I played a lot with conversions.

All what I need is an ISO that can fit in a DVD but when I install win 10 from this ISO/DVD, it gives me straight at the level of Windows 10 Pro x64 VL V.1607 Build 14393.447 so I do not have to apply nov 2016 update after OS installs.

many ready ISO are showing up on internet but they are out of DVD size and mostly with install.ESD so I can't play/configure it later with my options.

please give me some idea how to get an ISO/DVD sized installation media with my required build. I can Volume license it after install

    please suggest

    :)

    Hi,

You don't need to Burn an ISO file to a DVD for installing Windows. You can download a software that create a virtual drive, like "VirtualClone Drive, or Daemon Tools or Magic ISO". With any of these software you can mount an ISO image as a virtual drive. So, download one of this, download the Windows ISO image file that you want, after that mount the ISO image and install WINDOWS. No need to buy DVD'S.

First, a clean install can't be done when ISO is mounted as a virtual drive. It must and can only be done when PC is booted from Windows install media, either DVD or a USB flash drive. Only an in-place upgrade can be started from a mounted ISO image.

Second, It is totally unnecessary to download and install anything on Windows 10 to mount ISO and IMG images as virtual DVD. The feature is built-in in Windows since Windows 8; simply double click a disk image to mount it as virtual disk.

    1) surely it will fit on a double layer dvd?

    2) Whys us a dvd anyway when a usb flash drive is easier?

  7. Kari, you said it all what I would have replied to this. thanks
Situation is I have few machines to be installed windows 10 updated. Preference is booting by a prepared Win 10 DVD. USB can be last options if nothing is helping.

I do have DVD DL but no idea that a 6.4GB 8in1 install media I got from somewhere is not burning on this Dual Layer and I don't want to find problem with that instead to get the main job done i-e Win 10 install. Network boot and WDS is not an option here.

Can I not get an updated (Nov 2016,V.1607 Build 14393.447) edition ISO that can fit in a 4.7 GB DVD?

agreed on USB devices. much better than DVD.
But problem with USB device: Read/Write is open. Once a USB installer Flash drive is ready it can be accidentally put inside a machine which may be infected or it can be mistakenly used for casual data storage drive.
can we lock/unlock USB read, write. I am in favor of lock and unlock both. no permanently locking because same USB drive can be used for making it ready for future updates

I do have DVD DL but no idea that a 6.4GB 8in1 install media I got from somewhere is not burning on this brand new blank Dual Layer DVD and I don't want to find problem with that instead to get the main job done i-e Win 10 install. Network boot and WDS is not an option here.

So, just to be clear here.... you want to install Windows on multiple computers in a corporate (volume license) environment with an 8 in 1 ISO file that you "got from somewhere"?

Not sure where you got an install media that is 6.4 GB. If you're looking to just install 14393, how about the MS Media Creation Tool? It will download and, at your option, install Win 10 14393. After install, there will be some updates to do to get it to 14393.447, but it works fine. Just choose the options you want/need. Windows 10

  11. This is a test environment only. Media I got from 'somewhere' is just one way of trying while I am trying all other ways possible in search of the task mentioned in my OP

  12. I tried Media Creation tool earlier. Problem in resuming downloads once download is disrupted and also it ends up giving you an ESD file instead of older Install.wim file.

Ok when i am successfull in getting ISO from Media creation tool to build 14393.nnn . I have already downloaded cumulative update of Nov 8 for win10. which will bring it to 143939.447. Can you guide me how to build an updated DVD after Media Creation Tool stuff?

I've been wrong so often I have stopped counting. I might be totally wrong this time, too, but everything you have told us sounds somewhat strange. This sounds as if you would like to make an ISO for distribution and use volume licensing hacks to activate it.

If you have right to use organisational volume license, you will get the install media and all help you need to install and activate Windows from your organisation.

Not sure what you mean by updated DVD. You can create a DVD by using the tool. If you mean sysprep or slipstreaming, or something else, I'm not up on that. This is the option to create using MCT...

  15. Nobody feels good when someone doubts him. That is not the case as you mentioned. Did you even get the problem I posted in my first post?

I am not yet able to create/get an ISO/DVD of Windows 10 x64 which has Nov 8 updates integrated in it right there, which brings me direct to the build mentioned in my first post 14393.447 right after installation. Is such thing available anywhere at Microsoft (or any other official place)? if so tell me the link so I will finish my search.
Another way which I am already aware of is to get the available build for example 14393.0 ( I checked it ) from Media creation tool ( or from any other legal channel to clear your doubts) and then install it as would be normally done and then update it with cumulative update it with
    November 8, 2016—KB3200970 (OS Build 14393.447) KB3200970 ( I already have it )

only thing to mention is that I Do not want to update a few machines manually one by one to KB3200970 becuase is a huge update and takes time. Instead I want them already at this level when installed. That's all what I needed

please don't bring your doubts again
