Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro VM licensing requirements

I have received multiple different answers on this subject, and MS Licensing is in general very difficult to interpret.I am attempting to understand what licensing is required for the following use-case:One Windows 10 Pro Virtual Machine, running software that monitors and controls industrial equipment.It would occasionally be accessed physically with keyboard/mouse/monitor or via RDP to use the aforementioned software for monitoring/changing machine settings.This VM would be hosted on a computer that runs Proxmox VE or Ubuntu alongside other Linux VMs and containers.Is a Retail License suffic

Windows 10 Pro VM for a Macbook.

Hello,

I have purchased a copy of Windows 10 Pro, and am running it on a Desktop. This is a full license(non OEM).

I have purchased a Macbook Pro, and want to setup a large virtual box VM running Windows 10 Pro.

Will my already purchased license allow windows 10 Pro to be installed on this VM?

If not then what kind of license would be required for the VM install?

Windows 10 VM license

I bought a PC with Windows 10 home installed and licensed then upgraded the license to Windows 10 Pro. I now have a requirement to run a clean Windows installation for testing software inside a virtual machine.

Can I (legally) re-use (and activate) the original Windows 10 Home license that shipped with my PC on a virtual machine that I run on Windows 10 Pro or do I need another Windows 10 license for the VM?

 

Windows 10 License for VM in VDI Scenario

Hello,

In a VDI on-premise scenario, what OS license should I install on the VM that the user will be accessing?

I understand that Windows VDA is required for each user for access rights, but how about the VM dedicated to each of them?

Can I just use a normal Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise to install on those VMs or I need something more special Windows 10 licenses? And do I have to license each VM?
