Windows 10: Windows 10 pro x64 1909 - idle cpu 30%-80%

Hi guys, upgraded from W7 and ever since I've installed a fresh copy of W10 I get my CPU running on 30%-80% for no reason.

Is there anything I can do? It's a laptop with dedicated you, drivers seem to be up to date, set cooling on passive mode but also tested active.

I can hear my CPU running all the time, kind of like a hoover and it annoys me.

CPU Running consistantly 30% at idle.

I have a Lenovo z50-70 with a Intel core i7-4510U with 8GB of memory. Every few months my CPU gets pegged at around 30% consistently, even when it has sat on my desk for an hour with no programs open. My memory has always been around 25% when idle and
does not change the times that my CPU is running high. Like i said every few months it comes back for about two weeks and then one day i boot it up and its running at normal(around 1-5%). My system is completely updated with the latest updates for windows
10. The process that is alone running the CPU at 30% is "system and compressed memory". The file is "ntoskml.exe" in C:\Windows\System32. I am a college student and my battery life is greatly effected by this. If anybody has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated,
as it seems no one has posted about my specific issue before.

 

Constant 100% Disk Usage, 60-80% CPU usage. Both happen when idle.


Could you also provide a snapshot of Resource Monitor with selected Disk Activity Tab and checked only System:

i would also suggest running checkdisk and sfc /scannow

Hi Microsoft Techs and Experts,

After upgrading to Windows 10 Pro x64 (From Windows 8.1 x64) my CPU cooler runs much more than before.

Even though the PC is idle and on the Desktop only (Without any programs open) the cooler fan runs constantly, perhaps it is not running constantly on maximum but it runs constantly and the noise level is much higher than before with Windows 8.1

Is anybody facing the same issue?

As already mentioned in the subject my CPU is a Intel® Core™ i7-4702MQ CPU @ 2.20 GHz (8 CPUs)

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my PC has also dropped out completely all of a sudden a couple of times.

I am pretty sure this is also related to the CPU cooler or rather CPU usage issue.

If any further info is required please let me know.

Any help on this matter would highly be appreciated.
