  1. Windows 10 Pro x64 BSOD [special]

So I am currently experimenting with XenServer and GPU Passthrough, that's why there is a [special] thingy

So I am having this problem with my VM with GPU passthrough running on XenServer.

The BSOD says something like: SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED(nvlddmkm.sys)

    Specs of the VM:
    Windows 10 x64 Pro
    10GB RAM
    2 sockets 4 cores p/s
    Nvidia GTX660 (Passtrough)
    300GB VMDK HDD

It is a clean install with only some programs installed from Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once nothing else.
The BSOD only appears if I passthrough the GTX 660, if I run without the GTX 660 the machine just works.

    Hope someone can help.
    Niels

    EDIT:
I found a thread where they said that Windows needs to be activated for help on this forum.
    To be clear about this:
I have license key for Windows 7 Prof. here so I can activate this machine, as I was planning to do, but I don't want to waste a license key if I need to reinstall the VM.
If needed I can activate it but then I first would like to know if it is even possible to fix this *Smile

    :)

    install graphics driver error

There are now special nvidia drivers for windows 10.

The software automaticly uninstall the driver, after that i did a quick peek at nvidia and the drivers where there on the server of nvidia just select windows 10 x86 or x64 drivers.

    Download and installed succesfuly.

    i,m runningh windows 10 x64 pro build 10166

    nvidia drivers

    hope this helps.

Dowloading windows 10 after replacing my HDD.

When you use the Media Creation tool, it will offer x64 or x32 so make sure you have the correct bit version plus it may offer 3 versions OS. Unless you have special requirements, like international, pick the Windows 10 version. During an install it
will give you the option for Pro or Home.

It is a failure in the passthrough process of the graphics card.

  5. Thank you Arc, I thought it was with the windows installation. Thanks for pointing this out. I will try with the xen project.

I'll mark this topic as solved them *Smile
