Windows 10: windows 10 pro

my Brother got me a refurbished t440

ThinkPad for Christmas it has windows 10 pro on it I let a guy who I now know was an ex convict from Denver Co. he forgot his prison ID here also now know he was on crystal methamphetamine and awake for over 7 days he obviously was having sleep deprivation hallucinations he said his phone was hacked he got on my computer and was messing with it I think he deleted some stuff he should not have not sure though this only had like 20 days on the windows warranty coverage. I know how to make a bootable usb drive. but I am not exactly sure what he really did. Since I dont have two nickels to rub together and cant buy more coverage from windows I was thinking I guess it would br better to use a bootable copy of Ubuntu Mate Linux distribution. I really dont want to use this pc to make a bootable copy of windows 10 pro and need this thing today so I think I should get rid of windows and just start using Linux on this all the dang software is free and a large amount of the people that use it talk very good about it and how the Ubuntu Mate and

Linux Mint are easy for people that are used to windows to use what yall think a broke guy like me that scrapes by on social security disability should do? seems I dont have much of a choice.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Can't upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Pro

I suggest you to download and create an installation media for Windows 10 Pro form the link provided below:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10

After the installation media is created, suggest you to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro from the installation media. When the upgrade asks for product key, enter the product key purchased for Windows 10 Pro. If it does not accept, suggest you to skip the activation
step. After the Operating System is installed, suggest you to activate by phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select the Region from the list and click Next.
• Call the Toll-Free number provided on top and can activate via phone.
