Windows 10 programs closing themselves after a second from opening them

This started completely out of the blue. I was playing on the pc for a few hours. While I was alt tabbed out of the game to google something, the game closed itself. I was not able to relaunch it, it would just close itself again in a secondin case it matters, its not a new game I played it for a few weeks already. Thought it was an issue with the game at first, but then I realised same thing happens with other programs. Chrome works for some reason, but microsoft edge will close itself the same way. Notepad will do the same thing. Probably other things too.

I goolged around abit and found advice to run sfc/scannow from cmd. I did that, first time it said it found some corrupted files and fixed them. I restarted, but problem persisted. I rerun sfc/scannow, this time it said it found corrupted files but was unable to fix them. I checked hard drives for bad sectors but it said they are fine. Found another post saying to run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth in cmd. Restarted but this did not help either. Tried sfc/scannow again it said everything is fine, ran it again now it says:

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at

windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline

repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.

I can't open that log file, because notepad shuts itself in a sec.

    Any advice what to do?

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

Windows 10 Camera Opens, but closes in 5 Seconds

MS-Windows 'Camera Window' opens, but only for about 5 Seconds, then closes.

Haven't previously used the Windows Camera on my Laptop. (Rely on my Tablet). Today, pinned Windows Camera to Task Bar, checked 'Settings\Privacy\Camera' set to 'Allow Access'
and that Settings\Camera shows 'Camera Switched On'.

Every time I attempt to use the Camera, a Window Opens displaying it, but only for about 5 Seconds, then closes.

During the 5 Seconds the Window stays open, I tried clicking the Camera Settings Cog (which responds by opening to show a list of settings) but the Camera Window still closes before anything else can be done / clicked. (Can't keep it open for longer than 5
    Seconds, literally).

Running latest 64bit Windows 10 Professional on an elderly Sony VAIO Laptop (9 Years Old). Everything else working fine, as far as I can tell. Thoughts? (Thanks in advance for any Comments).

Feel free to post back for the results.
