    Windows 10 RAM issue

I've been dealing with it for months now. RAM fills up very fast upon doing certain things (such as using chrome to download stuff, using windows store, origin, steam, etc). Eventually, it goes up to 95-100% and of course there is nothing to show for it in the taskbar so its probably a memory leak.

I tried using Driver Verifier, tried using those "fix win10 leaks" videos (one with registry for enabling flushing pagefile, one with network registry hack, one with making the pagefile 16gb and 3x for the max size) but to no avail.

I don't know how to use poolmon (downloaded the dev kit) so that didn't really help either.

    :)

  2. Windows 10: Issues with deleting a particular system file and Administrator Problems.

    Original Title: Administrator Problems

The issue is quite simple. Ever since migrating to Windows 10, I've been unable to administrate, though I'm supposedly an administrator with "full control." A current example: I've picked up a trojan file in a c:\windows subdirectory. having full control
of the c:\ directory, I should be able to simply delete the bad file. However, I can't do that because I get the following message:

"You require permission from the computer's administrator to make changes to this file." I've tried all the suggestions here and none of them work. This has been an ongoing issue with this OS since I installed it a year ago. Until now, I haven't needed
to "administrate" over this directory, and thought that Microsoft would eventually get around to fixing the problem, especially since there have been so many complaints about it. Apparently, Microsoft can't handle it. BTW, Windows 10 sucks. It's apparently
not built for end users who want to accomplish real work on the computers THEY OWN. Instead it's built for vendors who want to know who you are, where you are and what you're doing, so that they can tailor advertising to you.

  3. Won't read SD CARD windows 10

Below is the result of following your Step 1. So my issue of Windows 10 not reading the SD is still not resolved. How come the required driver to allow Windows 10 to read the SD in my computer was not installed during the fix?

"There is a problem with the driver for USB-IF xHCI USB Host Controller. The driver needs to be reinstalled."

    Windows 10 RAM issue

    Hi, check your settings here:

    Windows 10 RAM issue [IMG]

Make sure you have a paging file and it's system managed. (I've got mine on E: mostly - but you can leave it on C: of course)

I've seen 2 or 3 cases where they had no page file and even 16Gb RAM wasn't enough. If so, that's easy to fix,so start there.

  5. It sounds like a memory leak, but those are usually very easy to diagnose. If your memory is filling up, what process is consuming it? That's your starting point.

Post a screenshot of Task Manager - Performance tab, showing memory info. Without that it is all just guesswork.

Also post a shot of Resource Monitor showing the memory tab.

And to clarify, you are saying your IN USE memory eventually goes to 100% ?

What I mean is that that memory tab you see under resources keeps climbing up and up until it reaches 100 percent and necessitates a fresh reboot. Its easy to replicate if I use for instance Chrome to download say 20 files concurrently. The longer I continue the download, the higher the memory usage climbs. It also doesn't go down when the download ends and I close Chrome.

It can go all the way to 100% and the computer can't even be shutdown unless I hard-reset it.

The window you posted is Task Manager, it says so right at the top of it.

Click here, then the memory tab and post a snip.
