Windows 10: Windows 10 Random Restart microsoft-windows-kernel-power

I have been receiving random restarts with my hardware. I've pulled the event logs and are ready to share them if someone can help.

The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly. If the computer was not shut
down cleanly, a Kernel Power Event 41 message is generated.



Try this, see if it works for you:

• Go to "Settings"
• Select "System"
• Select "Power and Sleep"
• Select "Additional Power Settings"
• Select "Choose what the power buttons do"
• Select "Change settings currently available"
• Ensure that "Turn on fast start up" is deselected (unticked)
• Click on "Save Changes"

Restart your computer after performing the steps.

Microsoft Selects Dolby Audio for Windows 10

it would've been great if microsoft added HEVC decoders, LAV filters along with other codecs with Windows 10, and developing WMP to be better than VLC, KMPlayer and such sorts of media players.

Nevertheless, this is good step for microsoft, by far.

Prior to 1996 they were all named after their kernel number:

Windows NT 4.x used kernel 4.x
Windows NT 3.x used kernel 3.x
Windows 3.x used kernel 3.x
Windows 2.x used kernel 2.x
Windows 1.x used kernel 1.x

The speculation now for skipping 9 is not marketing but to avoid software installation errors. Apparently there is a not insignificant amount of software that is coded to to look at the name of the OS as opposed to the kernel version when determining compatibility. In order to prevent installation on Windows 95 and Windows 98 systems, that software is coded to refuse to install on any OS with name "Windows 9*". This would mean that otherwise compatible software would refuse to install on Windows 9 because it thought the OS was Windows 95 or Windows 98. Considering the amount of legacy software on Windows, this seems like a good idea on Microsoft's part
