    Windows 10 random wake up and reboots from sleep?


    I just built my first PC and finally installed Windows 10 on it a few days ago and thought the problems were finally over, however, now I am noticing that when I put my computer to sleep, and it stays in sleep for some time, it randomly turns back on and restarts the computer (goes to bios screen before windows)

    Does anyone know what might be causing this or how to fix it?

    Not sure if this is one issue, or two: 1) random wake up 2) wake up is the computer rebooting

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting your reply. Apologize for the delay in response.

    I suggest you to check which devices are configured to wake up the computer from sleep by following the steps below:

    • Right click on Start icon and select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type the command line below:
    Powercfg /devicequery wake_armed

    3. Check if the devices (Keyboard, Mouse, Ethernet cable) are listed.

    If the system is not going to sleep and going to Hybernate, the only option to wake up is to press the Power button.

    Computer reboots instead of wakes from sleep

    This made no difference. Upon trying to wake the computer, it goes into BIOS. The Windows boot drive is absent in the BIOS boot order list, so I have to turn the computer off, then reboot. Upon booting, any windows that were open prior to sleep are now
    closed (i.e., it is a cold boot, not a wake from sleep).

    Random Reboots

    I've had, as the title suggests, random reboots for the length of the time since I've built my computer (2 years roughly) and they're completely inexplicable.

    It happens under no load, high load, watching movies, listening to music, playing games, browsing the web, sitting by itself in the room when the my sleeping monitor is even saying WTF?!

    There aren't any Events to view other than the usual 0xC*D event when the service just shrugs at me.

    Any thoughts or suggestions? Maybe someone has had the same problem before and it was just a loose molex connection? I'm baffled.
