Windows 10: Windows 10 randomly crashes with 0x0000007e error. Did all the update, and ran the verifier...

The Windows 10 Dell Optoplex randomly crashes with the error:


The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff8001ec2f438, 0xffffc00003171358, 0xffffc00003170ba0). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: a7d50838-53e3-44fd-ad70-471c687320df.


I installed all the updates, and ran the verifier, all went well.


I want to post the memory dump file, how can I do it? Thanks.

Mafia 2 crashes on Windows 10

I recently want to play some Mafia 2 again but in Windows 10 it crashes no errors or warnings it just closes down.
The game starts fine and loads, but in missions even in the DLC's it just crashes and it doesn't matter if it's a savegame or new game.

What I have tried so far:

Running the game in compatibility mode Windows 8 and 7
Verify game cache (since it's steam)
re-downloading the game

I use the newest Nvidia driver 368.39 and the game is update, and so is steam.

Anyone got a good advice here? It worked for me on Windows 7 and 8 back when I got the game.

 

Various applications crashing, mostly from error 0xc0000005


KScorp, did you ever find any solution to this? I've been having the same problem for a while now. I too have the issue mostly when gaming (GTA5, BF4) I should try other games too. The crashing is pretty random as well. I thought I had it fixed today because I played GTA and BF4 for about 3 hours total with no crash. Then it suddenly crashed while I was in GTA5.

Things I have tried:

• Run Memtest86, for over 24 hours. (Did this twice, no errors)
• Microsoft Memory Diagnostic (No erros)
• Tested all HDD's for bad sectors (all were good)
• Uninstalled/reinstalled Nvidia drivers with DDU (still crashes)
• Uninstalled Nvidia drivers again and moved GPU, a GTX 680, to different PCIe slot (still crashes)
• Ran OCCT PSU test for 3 hours (nothing crashed)
• Ran Driver Verifier to ensure driver integrity (ran for 16+ hours, no BSOD from misbehaving driver)

Things to try still:

• Flash BIOS to updated version
• Reinstall Windows 10 (this was happening with Windows 7 before fresh install/update to Win 10 so I don't think that was the issue)
• Any other suggestions
• Smash with hammer

 

Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
