Windows 10: Windows 10 randomly restarting without warning since August

So this is an issue I've been getting on and off since August. The problem is that my Windows 10 desktop PC will suddenly just restart without any indication. The screen will just go black and it restarts, but it doesn't make any mention of it shutting down incorrectly once it has started back up, however I do get "critical error 41" in event viewer. Sadly it also seems to fail creating dump files, so I can't check those, and there's never really any specific logs that occur before or after the restart that point to anything in particular. In fact there often won't be any logs from the past 1-2 hours before the restart occurs.

I remember hearing about the KB4512508 update causing random reboots for many, and it first occurred for me 2 days after the update. I initially thought it was just this, and it seemed to go away on its own, but then my compute randomly rebooted again in late October, and did so again just a few days ago. It only seems to do it when it's idle, it hasn't occurred yet while I am actively using the computer. I've had this computer for 2 and a half years now and this issue has never occurred before, and the fact it is happening fairly frequently in the span of 4 months has gotten me a bit worried.

Granted, I don't know if this issue is due to the Windows 10 OS, but I've been using Windows since 98 and have never experienced anything like this before, aside from blue screens. From what I've been finding on Google as well, this doesn't seem too uncommon for W10.

I have recently disabled automatic restart so that I hopefully get a blue screen with an error code/message instead should this happen again. I've also disabled fast startup. I've also tried Windows Memory Diagnostics and it didn't seem to find anything wrong. I generally have the computer in sleep most of the time, but frequently just leave it on while I'm at home, especially when I'm sporadically using it throughout the day.

I'm not very knowledgeable on computers so I honestly don't really know how to narrow down what might be causing this. If anyone could give me any advice, or point me in the right direction if this isn't really the right place to be asking this, it would be much appreciated.

Windows 10 restarts randomly without warning

Ever since we upgraded to Microsoft 10 (Home) in April we've had the system randomly stop and restart at least once a day. This is increasingly frustrating when working and gaming. There is no warning, it has nothing to do with updates.

I've tried to follow the advice of the many many other people who have had this problem, but as I no longer have our Windows 7 installation disk, we can't go back. I like Windows 10, I just want it to WORK.

I'm not a developer and I don't know what BIOS is, but if someone has some simple steps or advice for me, I'd be grateful.

Windows 10 Randomly Restarts Laptop Without Warning

Hi,

So I just got the Dell Inspiron 5577 Gaming few days ago.

The basic specs:

• 7th Generation Intel Core i5-7300HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
• GeForce GTX 1050 4GB GDDR5
• 8GB 2400MHz DDR4
• Windows 10 Home 64-bit English

The problem: It restarts randomly, no blue screen, no error messages. It just goes into the Restarting process, including the screen where it says "Restarting". Basically kicking me out while
I was writing documents, editing images, nothing system intensive.

This is very troublesome since it's very unreliable.

• It is not Windows Update because WU asks you beforehand and tells you after reboot that the system has been restarted,
• I do not think it's the temperature because I have a monitoring software that says it's cool and a cooling pad as well.

What I did (Note: I already turned off Automatic restart in System before those restarts happened) :

• Checked Event Viewer nothing special, checked Reliability History, nothing special.
• Did Dell BIOS(F12) comprehensive tests(3+ hours), Dell Assistant tests, memtest86, Prime95, Unengine Benchmark.
  Can't seem to replicate it.
• Ran File System Checker, HDD bad sector scan, etc.
• Finally Re-Imaged the PC using the provided Dell Tool and Image for this laptop. And still it's doing it...randomly.

Is there a program that closely monitors Windows 10 and actually tells you what's causing the restart? It seems Windows 10 is
consciously doing this since it's actually Restarting the Laptop normally so it should have appended the reason why it's Restarting,
somewhere, it's not a power failure where it just shuts down abruptly and doesn't leave a footprint.
