    Windows 10 Randomly Restarting

    So, I am having issues with Windows 10 Randomly Restarting. I'm looking at the event logs to see what is going on. This seems to be the pattern before the whole thing randomly restarts:

    First: (Kernel-EventTracing)
    Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188
    (Event ID 3)

    Then....NET Runtime Error:
    (Event ID 1026)

    Application: IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe
    Framework Version: v4.0.30319
    Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
    Exception Info: System.NullReferenceException
    at IAStorUtil.SystemDataModelListener.ProcessSystemDataModelChanges()
    at IAStorUtil.SystemDataModelListener.LoadSavedSystemState()
    at IAStorDataMgr.EventRelay.<Start>b__0(System.Object)
    at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.WaitCallback_Context(System.Object)
    at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean)
    at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean)
    at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.System.Threading.IThreadPoolWorkItem.ExecuteWorkItem()
    at System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch()
    at System.Threading._ThreadPoolWaitCallback.PerformWaitCallback()

    Then...Application Error:
    (Event ID 1000)

    Faulting application name: IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe, version: 14.8.0.1042, time stamp: 0x5639dd97
    Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x04ba5035
    Faulting process id: 0x43c
    Faulting application start time: 0x01d1cb514efdf6e0
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology\IAStorDataMgrSvc.exe
    Faulting module path: unknown
    Report Id: 10d18921-882a-4f75-9744-39fa488af438
    Faulting package full name:
    Faulting package-relative application ID:

    Then...Service Control Manager:

    The Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).
    (Event ID 7034)

    Then, finally the system crashes and restarts: (Kernel-Power)
    (Event ID 41)

    The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

    So, some are saying it's a power supply issue, but the power supply is a Rosewill Quark-1000 Platinum Rated and is only one month old. The LED lights that show it's health are all green, which is supposed to mean that it is fine. I have tried shutting down the Intel Rapid Store Service and have set it to Manual so it will no longer start on every boot. But I am not quite sure what the culprit is. It seems to be this Intel Rapid Store that's causing all the problems. I've updated it from the Motherboard's manufacturer's web site but that did not seem to fix anything.

    Any ideas about what is really going on?

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Windows randomly restarts and resets desktop icons after windows creators update

    My windows 10 has been randomly restarting after the windows 10 creators update. So far it has restarted randomly around 5 times in the last 7 days. There is no warning either it just blacks screens then boots up like normal.

  3. Computer Randomly Restarts

    So around a week ago I got this new computer and it has Windows 10 on it. When I am away from the computer for around a half an hour it randomly restarts though twice it would just freeze in sleep mode. However a couple of days ago I made sure that it
    can't sleep or automatically restart for any reason yet it still restarts randomly while I'm away does anyone have any idea if this is caused by windows 10 or something else?

    While it could be a power supply issue, did you check to see if you have the most up to date RST driver from the manufacturer website? Even if you do, I'd reinstall it anyways.

    It almost sounds like the exe file might be corrupted.

    Haven't researched your other "events" but I can tell you with 100% accuracy that a "Event ID 41" attached to Kernel Power is always a failing power supply. I was plagued with the dreaded "Event ID 41" twice before. When the 1st instance occurred I researched for weeks and found no answer. Swapped my power supply and the "Event ID 41" stopped.

    Fast forward a year and the "Event ID 41" crash/BSOD started on my work desktop.
    IMMEDIATELY swapped power supply and the issue went away.

    Obviously you have other issues as well. However, they could all be caused by dips and spikes of power as your PSU struggles to stay alive.

    Event ID 41 simply means the computer did not shut down properly. There are a dozen things that can cause that other than a failing power supply.

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting another PSU and test it.

    Like I said previously, went through it twice.
