Windows 10: Windows 10 randomly uses thumbnails from my secondary drive on random folders.

Hello,

I have two drives on my PC, C: and Q:

In Q: I put my movies and tv shows in different folders with a custom jpg thumbnail for each one.

For some reason, Windows randomly uses random thumbnails from my Q: drive on random folders without custom thumbnails.

For example, Q:\P\thumbnail2014.jpg is used on C:\Windows.old

I already cleaned the thumbnails from m C: drive using Disk Cleanup and reset the view/restored defaults folder settings to no avail. This doesn't only happen on my C: drive, it also happens on the Q: drive if I don't manually assign a thumbnail (right click,properties,folder pictures,choose file)to a folder.

Windows 10 1909 Causes Secondary Hard Drive to not be Recognized

Installing the Windows 10 1909 Update causes my secondary hard drive to not be recognized.

Steps to confirm issue:

• Secondary drive not visible in Windows Explorer
• Secondary drive not visible in device manager
• Secondary drive not visible in disk manager

Steps to replicate issue:

• Installing 1909 update

Steps to resolve issue:

• Uninstall 1909 update

Since updates can only be delayed for so long, an actual fix would be appreciated.

 

Folders being created seemingly randomly on my secondary drive

Hey

As of a few weeks ago folders have been created on my secondary drive and I have no idea why, I have tried looking around for a solution but haven't been able to find anything that could hint as to why I am having this issue.





The folders consist either of no files within them or with a single "FILE" with a random string of numbers and letters. The files are small in size and there aren't that many.





As far as I know, they aren't really detrimental or anything but it is an inconvenience to have to delete the folders every day.

Any help in solving this issue would be appreciated.

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
