    Windows 10 RE & Macrium PE driver issues Asus X205TA


    On Asus X205TA, there is issue with Touchpad on Windows 10, that wasn’t the case with Windows 8 as it had come pre- loaded with. Later Asus release Smart Gesture driver that fixed the problem in booted Windows, [COLOR=rgba0, 91, 106, 1]but not for Win RE or PE environment – neither keyboard nor touchpad worked in RE or PE environment[/COLOR]. This is an [COLOR=rgba42, 0, 170, 1]UEFI system with GPT disk[/COLOR]. Whereas, my other system Lenovo G570 Legacy BIOS, MBR had no issues in Win RE/PE environment whatsoever with any drivers.

    The problem is particularly ominous while using Macrium PE for restoring images on Asus X205TA as neither Keyboard nor touchpad works. I am not sure if Asus is the problem or Windows 10 or Macrium Reflect; but any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.


    Both systems run on Windows 10 19H2 build 18363.997. Native Win RE version was used in both cases.

    Windows 10 compatibility problem - Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter in Asus X205TA

    After trying to install Windows 10 a second time, after the new Broadcom drivers were released, I sent my netbook back to ASUS a second time (now have spent $40 shipping costs!) and they returned it ready to begin the installation of Windows 8.1. ASUS description
    of problem was "instability".

    Windows 8.1 is running fine, but every day I must close the prompt to upgrade to Windows 10, which, at this point, is like an invitation to ****.

    I imagine that the new drivers will work, but without step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade the X205TA to Windows 10, I am extremely reluctant to try again.

    If someone at Microsoft or a contributor to this forum can reply with an upgrade sequence that includes installing the new Broadcom drivers (downloadable from ASUS) and specific this ASUS X205TA issue, I would very appreciative.

    Installing windows 10 final build on asus x205ta

    I've successfully Installed windows 10 on Asus X205ta. Everything is working normally here. Asus has updated the driver on their website, update them from there.

    The trackpad seems bit laggy though.
