    Windows 10 Reactivation


    I had a valid Windows 10 version running on my PC. I linked it to my account and then upgraded with a new motherboard. Windows would not automatically reactivate with an error code of 0x803F7001.


    I ran the troubleshooter, which informed me it cannot activate Windows, so I followed the link "I changed my hardware on this device recently". This took me to my Microsoft account page titled "Reactivate Windows 10". I selected my one and only device on the page and pressed the activate button. Still unable to activate Windows 10.


    Not sure what to do...

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
