Windows 10: Windows 10 reapir installation

I am trying to repair a previous Windows 10 installation using a new copy of Windows. I cannot find the original installation disk or file.


The computer will not boot up into Windows when powered up.+ When I try to do a repair installation, it says to remove the installation media, boot into Windows from the HDD and then re-insert the new installation disk. Since I can't boot up in Windows now, this option will not work.


I then was able to copy all my files and data to another computer, so if I simply did a new installation I would only lose a couple of apps that can be re-installed later.


The new installation will not work either. It says it cannot be installed to the partitions on the HDD and that a partition is missing. I have no idea why this is, since the drive has never been re-partitioned and has not been changed since the existing copy of Windows was installed and working.


One last item: I just read the fine print on the package and it looks as though the installation disks are for an OEM installation. Could that be affecting all this?

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
