    Windows 10 reboot loop

    Hi everyone

Yesterday I was presented with a Memory Management BSOD and since then I've been stuck in a loop with my Windows 10.

The BSOD apparently froze at 100% error collecting so I decided to hard reset my computer. That's when it all started. I was then presented with an American Megatrends screen saying disk drive failure was imminent, and that I should backup and replace my SSD asap. I could only press F1 to continue the boot process.

The next screen after F1 is the motherboard's BIOS. From there I could access the OS. I noticed then many many software could not start their processes correctly. Even the softwares that startup on OS boot like antivirus or Google Drive Sync.

I ran SFC and it said everything was good. I was then going to try chkdsk and the tool says it can't repair the drive while it's on use so it has to schedule the repair process to the next reboot. I did and when I rebooted I was presented, again, with the same American Megatrends screen. I pressed F1 again, went to the OS boot and chkdsk wouln't run at boot like it said it would.

Basically, after many unsuccesful tries of chkdsk-ing I decided to fresh-start my Windows from the config screen. The tool said it needed to reboot to continue and so it did... only to present the infamous American Megatrends error again and the same loop.

So I can't run chkdsk to know what's wrong with my disk because it needs a reboot to continue, and I can't reset or restore Windows because it too needs a reboot to continue, both reboots "blocked" by this "higher priority" American Megatrends error screen.

How can I proceed with this?

    :)

    Windows 10 reboot loop

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
