    Windows 10 Rebooting after 9/24/2024 Defender update


    On Tuesday, 9/24/2024, users started reporting that their machines, when rebooted, the device will BSOD. Upon a reboot the machine would begin to restart Windows 10, go to a blank screen, and then present a Diagnosing Problem message and then boot into the Windows Reboot Menu. We would select Restart Machine, Reset Machine, etc., all of the regular troubleshooting items. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO BOOT INTO SAFE MODE, or UNINSTALL ANY UPDATES. OR revert to a previous restore point. We have attempted to resolve the issue by performing C:\> sfc /scannow and receive an error message that the proc

    Defender issue on Windows 10

    Glad you fixed it.



    Windows Defender automatically updates appx every 24 hrs on my Win 10.



    If Windows Defender does not autoupdate (upon restart) 24 hrs after today's successful manual update you may need to take additional steps (some of which were listed
    in my first post).
