    Windows 10 Reboots Instead of Sleeping


    This is an ongoing issue I've encountered over three different PCs running Windows 10. Whenever I hit sleep, my Windows 10 Education machine running 21H1 19043.1052 currently instead immediately reboots. Steps I've tried to remediate the issue:-Uninstalled Nvidia GPU drivers/rolled back to a prior driver version-Verified all Windows updates, including optional updates, are installed -Ran the Power Troubleshooter it returned NO issues-Verified that the Sleep button settings were standard-Turned off Fastboot -Updated BIOS Ryzen 5800X on an X570 AORUS MASTER

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Computer reboots instead of wakes from sleep

    This made no difference. Upon trying to wake the computer, it goes into BIOS. The Windows boot drive is absent in the BIOS boot order list, so I have to turn the computer off, then reboot. Upon booting, any windows that were open prior to sleep are now
    closed (i.e., it is a cold boot, not a wake from sleep).
