    Ibought this laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed many years ago. Then I upgraded it to Windows 10 when Microsoftwas sending emails out offering free upgrade many years ago. I am now having a lot of problems, includingnot having any security updates installed for a long time. I've spent a week trying to fix it myself without success. I need to get on with taking 5 online coursesas soon as possible. I thought maybe Icould do a recovery so that I can have security updates automatically installedfunctioning again. 1 When I do a recovery,will i

    Well just noticed a pretty large one pop up coming in at 914MB, seems it makes some pretty serous updates.

  3. Windows 7 Ultimate (64) Security updates not installing.

    I have been having problems in installing the updates that I have listed below. For each update I attempted to install them individually but they would not install. I also downloaded the SURT 6.1 KB947821 v27. The problem has been going on now for about 2 months. (whenever the issue with the updates comes to mind I am never near my pc). Thank you in advance.

    Microsoft to make Windows 10 updates mandatory

    Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

    I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.
