    Windows 10 recovery drive/Windows updates not working


    Hi,


    I have a Windows 10 HP laptop and I was having some problems with Windows updates not installing because the recovery drive was full. I checked the recovery drive and it showed that there were no save points apart from the most recent.


    My IT guy at work suggested that I should delete the contents of the drive and it will most likely re-populate itself and fix the problem. This hasn't worked and now I get a notification every day telling me that windows updates are downloading and then another notification telling me that it hasn't worked.


    What's the solution for this? how do I restore the recovery drive and fix the update problem?

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
