Windows 10: Windows 10 recovery mode crashes to BSOD

I've been troubleshooting for hours but haven't been able to find this exact problem. I'm using a windows 10 boot USB to get into recovery mode. I get to the screen that has the "repair your computer" button but it crashes to bluescreen if i click it. I also have the option to install windows but that crashes to blue screen as well. Here is the history of how I got to this point. I got a new CPU that would be windows 11 compatible. I managed to damage my old motherboard while taking the old CPU out so I ended up having to get a new one of those too. Everything went together fine. All the hardw

BSOD error 0xc000021a crash


This is just 1 step of finding the cause, there are a few usual causes for this crash.

• Mismatched system files,
• User-mode driver
• system service
• 3rd party app's

To proceed, you would need recovery media or the troubleshooting options.
I would recommend the recovery media in case the recovery partition(s) get damaged.

Cannot go into recovery mode in several ways

Problem:

Cannot login into normal mode or safe mode or access anything other than Boot settings.

• Do not get usual login screen.
• Seeing Automatic repair and then BSOD with code 0xc000014c
• That loop continues.

Troubleshooting Steps taken:

• Tried 3 times reset when in "Preparing Automatic Repair" to boot into recovery mode - Failed.
• Created bootable WIndows 10 USB flash drive to go into repair mode - Getting another BSOD with code "Driver pnp watchdog"
• Some times, after "Preparing automatic repair" screen, i get "Your pc needs to be repaired" recovery screen where it shows F8 to go into Startup settings. When i press F8, i get the same screen again in a loop.

Multiple BSOD crashes during everyday use

I checked the dump, it says something about a USB device but doesn't specify any.
Let's see if we can find it with driver verifier.

Please run driver verifier using the following settings for 48 hours.

• Special Pool
• Force IRQL checking
• Pool Tracking
• Deadlock Detection
• Security Checks
• Miscellaneous Checks
• Power framework delay fuzzing
• DDI compliance checking

Warning: driver verifier could cause boot issues and/or performance issues.

• Make sure that you have recovery media, if needed you can create it.
• Configure a restore point prior enabling driver verifier.

Resetting driver verifier options (recommended in this order)

1. In normal mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
2. In safe mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
3. On 3 boot failures, you'll boot automatically to the recovery options,
   • click Troubleshoot
   • go to the advanced options
   • choose command prompt
   • enter the below command
4. Boot with the recovery media, see above 4 steps in option 3.
5. Via the recovery options or recovery media, select a restore point prior enabling driver verifier
