Hi,I have Windows 10 version 22H2 and I keep getting an error on KB5034441. I went to the KB5028997 page to try to fix the issue. So far, I have been successful fixing one PC but I have another PC for which the fix does not work. This PC is made of 3 drives. The main one is of a SSD type and it's the system drive. The 2 others are for data. If I use Diskpart, I can see there are 3 partitions on the main drive; one of 579 MB, which is the system partition, the second one holds programs, the third one I have created as a recovery partition following the instructions from KB5028997.I think my prob

    (KB5034441)

Hi. My name is Lester, and I am an Independent Advisor. I'm sorry that you are experiencing this issue. I'd be more than happy to assist you.

Many users have reported experiencing the same issue with the KB5034441 security update. Microsoft is aware of the problem and is actively working on fixing it. Devices attempting to install the January 2024 Windows Recovery Environment update ( KB5034441) might display an error related to the size of the Recovery Environment's partition.

Next steps: They are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.

There is a suggested workaround in this article: https://support.microsoft.com/topic/kb5028997-i...

If you are not comfortable doing it or if it does not work for you, I suggest waiting for Microsoft to release an automatic fix.

I hope this information is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions. Thank you

Can I remove Drive letter for Recovery partition?

Hi, I used Disk Management to shrink my boot partition by 500MB. Then I ran through the steps in KB5028997: Instructions to manually resize your partition to install the WinRE update, except for the Shrink step. I did manage to increase the size of my Recovery Partition & Windows Update KB5034441 is now successfully installed. However, the recovery partition is no longer labeled "Disk 0 Partition 3", it now has a drive letter (FWindows 10 recovery partition KB5034441 - KB5028997 :). I imagine it comes from the Diskpart command "format quick fs=ntfs label=”Windows RE tools” I entered. Is this correct? Can I just remove drive letter (FWindows 10 recovery partition KB5034441 - KB5028997 :) using Disk Management? Before

Stuck at Last Step for KB5028997 while troubleshooting Windows update (KB5034441) Error (0x80070643)

    Hello Jonathan,

Thank you for your response however, the issue is not about installing windows update KB5034441 but the issue is realated to steps mentioned on KB5028997.

As you can see from the screenshot, I have followed all steps as mentioned on KB5028997 but I AM ATUCK AT THE LAST STEP which is command:

    reagentc /enable.

After running the command "reagentc /enable" I get the message "The Windows RE image was not found".

Whereas before starting these steps, I checked that my "reagentc" was in enabled condition.

I hope now you are able to understand the issue and would be able to suggest steps to fix this.

    Regards,
