Windows 10: Windows 10 recovery usb from an Acer AMD laptop installed on an ASUS Intel I5 laptop

I installed a Windows 10 recovery usb drive from an Acer laptop with AMD chipset to an Asus laptop with an Intel chipset because the pre-installed Windows 10 was not working properly. What could happen in this kind of set-up, and can I still recover the Windows 10 that is compatible with my Asus laptop? I don't have the bitlocker key, and all files were erased when I installed the recovery drive.

Issues installing Intel graphics drivers for Windows 8.1 64Bit in (Kaby Lake) laptops

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a new laptop the DELL Inspirion 15.6 Intel i5 - 8gb memory - NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti - 256gb SSD . I was able to load windows 8.1 fine and was able to get the usb's and some drivers working. However when I try to install the NVIDIA Geforce drivers I get an error stating that I need to install the intel graphics drivers first. I tried doing that and since it is a 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7300HQ mobile processor, Intel drivers wont allow me to install them even through the device manager.

But it didnt work. Maybe I am missing something or doing something wrong. Can anyone please help? I hate to have to return the laptop because I cannot use/stand windows 10 and its practices. I listed some specs on the bottom again.

Intel i5 laptop processor running at half speed

AMD based laptops have a history of high temps.
My own ACER ASPIRE 5542 has a dual-core AMD that at max load goes to 80-ish degrees and haven't changed paste in a year now.
So I was surprised to see these temps on an Intel in a laptop.
Opening it, dusting and repasting it is a must in your case.
I have a suggestion here in my mind:
DONT GAME WITH YOUR BATTERY ON
They are not temperature friendly and die at a little bit higher temperature.
Configure power plan on your laptop for battery and power cord.
It is safest to say, my laptop is 6 years old and running Windows 7 with a power plan like this.
Also NEVER put CPU usage to 100% as you might experience BSODs and crashes.
A little experience of mine with an older AMD based laptop, I suggest you do the same and see how it works.

 

Acer Laptops :are they crap ?

Acer makes a cheap prodcut period. They user lower end plastics, as well as assembly. (I hate working on Acer laptops)

If budget is an issue then get an acer... though for $50 more you could get a gateway that will smoke the acer in terms of quality.

For a laptop though i would suggest one of the DV7T's from HP or a Business class Toshiba/HP/IBM (not the lenovo branded, the Thinkpads)
