Windows 10 reinstallation after failed windows 7 hard drive

When the free upgrade became available I cloned my mechanical hard drive that was windows 7. I then disconnected that original windows hard drive and replaced it with the newly cloned windows 7 drive in a SSD version and then upgraded that to windows 10. That worked beautifully until the solid state drive failed at which point I reinstalled my mechanical windows 7 drive. I have been running that one now for some time however it is beginning to cause problems and really needs a reinstallation of windows 7. I have now purchased a new SSD and am wondering which direction to go. Should I reinstall windows 7 on the new SSD and then upgrade it to windows 10, or should I directly install a new version of windows 10? My concern is losing all of the software and data that I have accumulated over the years. Most of my software was installed on a separate mechanical drive that will remain in the machine. After the new installation can I simply go to the "H" drive and create links to the new desktop to access that software? How about the email? I have been using Windows Live and it was working just fine under windows 10. My cantankerous windows 7 hard drive will remain in the machine as a slave. Will I be able to access the previous emails or be able to use Windows Live from that hard drive? I am probably over thinking this but I don't wish to lose any functionality of the machine. Thank you in advance.-Brad

    :)

  2. Error in reinstalling the Windows 7

    Hi,
A reinstall guide is the replacement of an already present operating system. So if you wish to format your hard drive and put Windows 7 onto this drive then the reinstall guide is for you. Same as a clean install but with the removal all traces of the previous operating system. You can use this guide also for replacing an older Windows with new. Lets say you have XP , and now wish to replace this with Windows 7 using the same hard drive, then these guides are for you.I have problem with the c and d drives.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks for sharing this information.

Windows 10 reinstallation after failed windows 7 hard drive

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
